Looks like I was right then about the waveguide diameter being around 10mm inside diameter..
Much the same as the inverto in this regard..
Is that a thin stepdown just inside the first ring > waveguide ? about a cm down the throat ?
the 2mm thick rings are a surprise as the invertos are only 1mm ..

I can't see any obvious change in contour from the first ring to the waveguide VS, just some discolouration there. Looking at the Inverto feed, it's certainly a more basic design. Nevertheless, it does its job efficiently enough on my Triaxe dishes.

7E Ka test of the Triax feedhorn on the Triax TD88. Very good S/N values, certainly compares favourably with the Inverto feedhorn.

Now this has come as a surprise ..
I'm currently getting nothing at all from 7East on the XMW..(F15)
As far as I can see ...nothing has moved and 16E is as good as ever ..
Has there perhaps been an outage at 7East ..or they have dropped the signal levels ??
can you check Llew or is the XMW not installed atm

Just doing a crazyscan ...but looks very different ..
perhaps they've had a cghannel shuffle..

certainly not much info out there in webland..
all I can find is this :-

The model name is TBS 6983, it's
next-generation very powerful DVB-S2 hardware - it has Dual tuner and
each of those tuners can receive even 16APSK VCM Eumetsat service - for
example previous (old generation) DVB-S2 hardware, even if it's Dual
tuner it needs to switch and be used as Single tuner for 16APSK VCM.
there are no such limitations with TBS 6983. if i need to give more
exact technical specifications:
* if it's used as Single tuner, it can receive:
- QPSK up to 135Msps (yes, that's correct, usually maximum of QPSK used
in practice is 45Msps, but our new hardware is that powerful)
- 8PSK up to 90Msps
- 16APSK up to 67.5Msps (over twice as much as Eumetsat new VCM service)
- 32APKS up to 54Msps
* if it's used as Dual tuner, it can receive basically half of the
values for Single tuner mode:
- QPSK up to 67.5Msps
- 8PSK up to 45Msps
- 16APSK up to 33.75Msps (still enough to handle Eumetsat new VCM service)
- 32APKS up to 27Msps
all advanced DVB-S2 features like Input Stream ID (ISI), ACM/VCM

Looks like a music channel atm ..but a little confusing cos it gives the impression it's a 'god channel'
and Nkani news new active ..
