Thanks qwer! I get the 11487 H 9875 feed as well now with 13 dB.
Let's see what is left after this feed is gone again. It was a broad peak centered around 11494 H. Maybe it was just the background noise of the empty transponder?

So if this is on either 2E or 2F it proves, certainly in Band C, that they can switch between UK and PE footprints for at least some of these TP's on the new satellites.

But there is a new one on 11494H which is very weak here, so I cannot get a SNR. Is it on UK Spot beam ?

Is there any reports of 2E reception in Malta, if so what sized dishes? I guess it's way too far south and east of the footprint.

Only one report, of loss on a 1.8 metre. No reports yet of success, or anything further out, apart from one woman who claims to have 2E spot in Lindos, Greece on dish extended to 3.2 metre. She has a further two 2.4m and four other dishes at her bar with varying degrees of success on Sky's pay channels.

Down here in Malta we can receive Italy's Terrestrial Rai Broadcast, Mediaset's and a lot more from small Italian stations although these stations are not intended for us and more than 100km's away. Surely it is a problem of putting more repeaters at strategic points! Anyway Tivu as I said my opinion only.

Most of that approx 100km will be across water with little or nothing in the way of obstructions.
In many parts of the UK, terrain can make coverage difficult, especially in more isolated areas with a very low population where a relay may not be economically viable. In the past many self-help relays sprung up to fill these gaps but these day with satellite being available, most of these went blank at DSO.

I agree with you that from the south of Sicily to Malta is just the open sea, but these Italian transmission originate from Palermo mostly, which is in the Northern part of Sicily and therefore if one would measure the total distance it would be in the region of 258km or 160miles with most of the transmission being over Sicilian terrain. Anyway thanks for your input.

And do we know for sure whether 2E will nudge from 28.35 closer to 28.2 after 1N departs?

Or does the 28.5E slot becoming vacant mean 2E can happily sit where she is now?
