Am I the only one thinking this is a bit strange. This part of the spectrum is in the hands of SES since Octorber last year.

It is strange indeed. The limited use of 2F so far - and now they even move capacity back to Eutelsat. At times one can get the impression, they do have problems with 2F...

Also the signal strength of the Europe beam is quite unstable here, it often hovers 1-2dB up and down within seconds.

This is very interesting. With my 75cm multifeed a SNR of 15dB is about the average. This transponder doesn't lock. The 120cm Echostar yields 10dB.
A look into the SDT shows, that all Freesat services are designated for Ireland.

Is 11580H still there? Not locking at the moment on a Sky dish and TM6900 in South Bucks.

11580H gives a tiny signal of about 7 dB S/N (on the 120 cm), while for comparison 11464H comes booming in with 19.5 dB...
What's going on here?

I was trying to figure out if it was a ghost signal from 12522V but I can't see how it could be.

28.2/28.5 east 11580 H DVB-S/MPEG-2 22000 5/6 = no signal now it must have been a test.

It could be a test but it's still on, though with -10dB compared to 11464H.

The frequency 11580H is not exactly matching the Astra transponder grid's 11582H, that gives me deja-vu's of unintended transmission.
Maybe the SES uplink frequency corresponds to a Eutelsat 28A uplink, of a transponder that isn't switched off?

@ BlindFaith, can you also check the 12522V SDT, is it the same?

no problem, it seems to be a copy of 12522V

Thanks. The 11580H signal indeed seems to come from Eutelsat 28A direction, or at least further east than 11464 H.
Before I didn't finetune for the direction yet, now it's 9.5 dB.

I checked the signal on this transponders and ,as you see, is active.I do not think that is the test.Perhaps other 12 GHz Ku-band transponders will be brought in this band{11400-11700 MHz}?!

What size dish are you using, how does the signal level compare with other transponders?

I've managed to get 11580H locked on a 60cm dish at 57% quality on my TM6900.

This is still down a lot from the previous weakest transponder for me which was 11222H at 67%. Astra 2F UK spot is typically about 90%.

EUTELSAT_28A_Ku-band_Steerable2_Downlink_Coverage.png Signal back here but stronger @ 28.5 east than 28.2 east

Lower signal quality to other transponders on Eutelsat 28A
100cm dish + TM6900

53% Quality on 11580 H 22000 other transponders on 28.5 east 75 to 85% Quality

I think they are using the steerable beam-2 on E28A for this transmission.

For this transponder I used 1.5 m antenna. If I compare with 12522 V,the same packet, the signal is weaker by 3-4 dB.I think 11580 H is from South spot.
Here is what signal I have on 12522 V at this time.
