Transponders 19-21 and 23-32 have not moved and are still on 2A.

Astra 2C can only do part of the band used by the UK spots (so no good there as it only has a wide Euro beam) and part of the band already used by Astra 2E Europe beam. So unless they undo what they did last night and make more changes to 2E then they are not planning to use 2C.

(This is of course assuming there isn't some unknown 2C beam that avoids Finland - the 2C data transmissions are at maximum strength in Helsinki at 20dB on a 85cm dish)

Quick report from Gran Canaria.

I have just checked all the 2A North TPs (as per FlySat) on my Sky box (with the 2.4m Raven dish) and they are all coming in rock solid. I can't get access to a "small dish" feed at the moment.

This may come as no surprise, however, please note that since I had the big dish optimised for 2E (UK) my 2A North reception has normally demonstrated a little pixelation, so unless tonight is a particularly good night, I think they may all have moved to a PE beam.

Maybe it is 2C - can she cover these frequencies?

No Astra 2C cannot cover all of the Ku band as it only operates in this part of the Ku band:-

Total: 56 channels
10.70 - 11.20 GHz: 32 channels (Band C / Band D)
11.70 - 12.20 GHz: 24 channels (Band E / Band F)

Channel Number Allocation and Downlink Centre Frequencies

Oh yes, I forgot it goes that high, so in theory they could still add a few remaining transponders from 2A to 2C between 12.070H and 12.188H but I doubt it.

OK. I asked someone on a local forum who has a small dish to test the other 2A North TPs and he can't get them (he can't check the HD ones) so I guess tonight is just a good night.

from 12070-to 12324v will be also move 2a to 2e
what I think 2f will be empty after 2g will be come to service
it take 12500-12750 same freuqncy of 2f to 2g and low band of uk beam
the 2a will be move to 23.5e next week ?

I don't think 2G Europe beam will be used much, if at all. 2G Europe does not cover Scotland and Ireland very well. I think SES will keep European beams on 2E and 2F and just move a few transponders to 2G UK beam. Perhaps a few data transmissions will appear on 2G Europe when 2C has gone.

it can be this week all 2a going kaput
I think as Solly, is kaput.
Launched in 1998 with a problem on the launch, 28tp only 22 active, delays unforgiving and if average 15 years of life, one that makes obsolete the warranty.

Soon we'll see what happens, have to endure until it reaches the Astra2G.
--------------

On a 1.2pf dish, 11585H and 11681V are much stronger, have been for at least a few weeks. I remember when reading the Planet Rock thread I could not receive them at all.
Edit: Oh wait, those are not on 2A. Sorry, ot.

Over the last few weeks Eutelsat 28A has been loosing geostationary position by up to 0.12 degrees as the satellite was launched on 8th March 2001 with an expected life of 12 years so 28A must be running very low on fuel by now http://www.flysat.com/e28a-info.php

http://www.lyngsat.com/Eutelsat-28A.html
The other satellites currently @ 28.2 east cannot cover these transponders & 2A ? so hopefully 2G launch will be successful on the 28th.

This change has also affected Crete Greece. Have lost signal in 11.817, 11.895, 11.876, 12.032 and 12.051.
Still receiving 12.110, 12.188, 12.207, 12.266 and 12.285 though.
Wondering if the new 2G satellite would have a strong signal to receive here in Crete.

Care that is the ASTRA2A.
It's the other Eurobir1 => Eutelsat 28A
Also cluelessness me, sorry.

Last night look, as is also in last / kaput, hopefully withstand 2.
ASTRA2A released 1998+15= 2013 out of warranty.
Eurobir1 => Eutelsat 28A, released 2001+12= 2013 out of warranty.

Astra 2A of 28'2E changes 23'5ºE . when operating/OK Astra2G.
kaput = Estimated half-life = Fuel remain in geostationary orbit
---------------
Cuidado que ese es el Astra2A.
Es el otro, Eurobir1 => Eutelsat 28A
Tambien me despiste, lo siento.

Anoche lo mire, como tambien esta en las ultimas/kaput, esperemos que aguanten los 2.
Astra2A lanzado 1998+15= 2013 fuera de garantia.
Eurobir1 => Eutelsat 28A, lanzado 2001+12= 2013 fuera de garantia.

Astra 2A, de 28'2E cambia 23'5ºE. cuando este operativo/OK Astra2G.
Kaput = Vida media estimada = Combustible para mantenerse en orbita geoestacionaria

I am guessing that 12.480V is on Astra 2F rather than 2E as the signal levels suggest it matching the other Astra 2F Europe transponders directly above 12.480V looking at it on the 1.8m dish. Astra 2E is stronger by a couple of dB on nearby frequencies.

Eg at the moment it's sleeting and this is what I'm getting on the 1.8m:

12.382H 5.9dB (known to be on 2E)
12.460H 5.1dB (known to be on 2E)
12.480V 3.1dB (recently moved from Astra 2A to 2F?)
12.515H 3.0dB (known to be on 2F)
12.522V 2.5dB (known to be on 2F)

As for the other recent moves, to me they look more like 2E going by the stronger signal levels, but I could be wrong.

You should also be missing the MTV channels and the +1 versions of Dave, Watch, etc. as they left Astra 2A too?
