My Satellite Setup
1.2 channel master, cm polar mount, 12 inch actuator, Andrews feedhorn, Inverto lnb, Superjack positioner, Dreambox dm 500s, Protek 9600ip, 1m channel master with black ultra & 1m gibertini with technomate twin output lnb on astra 1/2, TM 5200 & 1000

I have a 3 inch pole concreted into the ground at the side of my house,
A friend has the dish pointer app and we tested to see if i can clear all sats over the house beside me,
It showed that i could get all sats 42east to 30west, but were just above the roof of the house beside me.

But how accurate is that dishpointer app.
I have a pole coming 4 foot from the ground, and from my pole to the house beside me is about 12 meteres and the height of the house is about 7 meteres including the hip roof.

If i cant clear the sats i could put the dish on the side wall of the house up a bit to clear the house.
I have a heavy duty 3 inch L bracket would that be enough to support the dish and cm polar mount.
I bought the setup second hand and the dish and mount were on this bracket low down on a garden wall.
 
..it's simple geometrie. There are numerous satellite calculation tools. The easiest way is to use the sun. In a couple of days the sun will follow the Clarke belt. When the sun is shining you'll know exactly which positions you can receive :D

I entered in my country and nearest town, as my town was'nt on the list
And dish size, what do i go by.
 
The dishpointer app on the phone is usually pretty good anyway. If it says you have line of sight then you most probably have. Also a roof 12m away,at a height of 7m above the dish equates to about 30 degrees elevation. Your highest satellite is about 29 degrees elevation, so you are in the right ballpark.

Cant comment on the wall bracket without seeing it.

Using the sun is an ok method I suppose, but what do you do if it's not following the Clarke belt. I just use my iPhone app and an inclinometer, never failed me so far.( oh except when I left it out in the rain , lol)

I should be ok, Was'nt sure on how accurate the app was.
 
I don't trust it 100%' I have a feeling that it sometimes tells me that satellites are not visible when they are, so always use my inclinometer as well. But I have never had it tell me that I can get satellites when i can't, when it has got my location correct that is, it sometimes doesn't.
