Help needed please !!!

i have just bought a 1.2 channel master hoping to motorize it.

getting everything out the box i quickly realized that a normal diseqc motor wont cut the mustard.

so been looking for a polar mount for the beast but cannot find one anywhere.

does anyone know where i can get one aether new or second hand
 
If I remember there was a discussion last year about this. At the time, I think SatSuperstore were making their own polar mounts which were modified Gibertini 1.5M polar mounts. Try Googling "Raven 1.2 polar mount" as this is the brand name for them now. I also think someone on here had his own fabricated as well. Don't discount the many European suppliers especially in Germany.
 
Thanks to Gerry55 who has i think come up with a solution based on what people in here are saying i have looked at a couple of pictures he sent me of the adapted bracket and from what i can make out it seems to have a long bolt running down the back of it which looks like it adjusts the declination.
 
you can use the jaeger 1224 h2h motor but they are 249 at one place. The only other option is the modified polar mount but that is not cheap either but once setup will last years.

I have the 1224 motor and it is the best option if you can get hold of one.
 
i can get the modified one for £100+P&P which seems quite reasonable. Luckily for me its not my money im spending aether lol

by the way anyone wanna buy an azel mount bracket lol
 
I've got an original in box here John, would be expensive to post though, they are bloody heavy.

are there cheaper H2H motors but reliable solution to Raven Channel Master 90 - 120 cm
 
OK this is where i am up to and need a little help

firstly thanks to Rolfw for supping an original channel master polar mount.

i have

channel master 1.2 dish
channel master polar mount
Jaegear 12" Reed actuator
invacom single lnb
plenty of 4 core power wire
20" x 3" elbow wall mount
Technomate Vbox3
Technomate TM800 hd reciever

im hoping to receive satellites 0.8w 4.8e 9e 13e 16e 19e 28.2e

im very good at setting up diseqc motors but have never setup one like this before so if anyone has a step by step guide that would very handy

i hope that wall mount is strong enough as the dish and mount will be heavy as my 1.2 with 1224 motor is well over 20kg. on that size dish you will easily get those satellites.

i've not setup a polar mount before but plenty of people here that can help.
 
yes was a bit worried about the wall mount my self but the guy paying for it didn't want to stretch to a nprm so as its going just above a flat roof i am going to wedge a 2" pole cut to size under the elbow mount to help take the weight.

Plenty info on the forum but here's a few basics.

Set the polar mount main axis angle / elevation using an inclinometer or some sort of angle finder. Drop the dish elevation a little as a starting point using the declination adjustment on the mount. You'll need to account for around 2° offset for your Southern satellite by nudging the mount E or W a tad to suit. Make your initial alignment on 5°W [having a longitude of 3.1°W] by swinging the mount round and... by adjustment of declination. Once you are happy and tracking by hand, fit the actuator to the mount / dish. You will need to adjust the actuator position and starting travel to give you the best arc, ie more East and of course to ensure you miss brackets as the dish swings.
