Nice work , I assume youre not planning to use C lnb at the changer .
At the pictures from the beginning I was wondering if there is enough space for the C conicle horn .
With the earlyer motor position and cutting of the feedarms it would be possible tu use also C band

Thanks Wim. Nah, not putting any Cband on it. Keeping it just for Ka use. Your disc and the motor arrangement fits a treat with the chosen bracket arrangement ;)

I have 2 x 1.2's from my old mate Jason at Rugeley Aerials...

Rugely Aerials was where our Sky dish came from originally :D Its my parents old 60cm round ex analogue dish and the branding is just about still visible alyhough its 20 years old. Its probably the only Rugeley Aerials dish outside the Midlands :D

If we ever move it will be moving with us.

... 6mm steel rod Wim, with a groove cut into it all the way around for the crimp lug to get a grip onto. A heavy duty crimp tool was used to really get a good purchase onto the rod.
Heat shrink over the rod, followed by a final adhesive shrink tube for the ends. Iv,e swung on the rods and pulled them and there nice and solid. To add some self confidence i have mounted / positioned the rods so that they are slightly in compression ie: they are not pulling "up" on the lnb boom arms.

Great stuff..

Got to know Burt, Val and son Jason many years back. Most of my dishes I have came from them as people had the motorised stuff taken down to be replaced with Sky. Even my 1.2 Greg came my way,the guy who owned it was moving abroad and asked Jason to take it down and skip it!, but Jason gave me a call instead....

Looking forward to the signal reports.

me night vision with the camera infra red leds is a bit over powering even with 95% of them covered up so gone with a little mod using normal leds from a waterproof fish pond light controlled by a 12volt dusk / daylight sensor . If successful i can disable the camera leds and let the camera work in daylight mode with the help of the normal leds mod.

.... Whilst waiting for some AV-Comm polariser barrels & Zinwell Cband lnbf's to appear from out of the Customs shed in Coventry for me and some of the members , .... i fancied altering a Inverto Ka/Ku lnbf that i have spare and used for testing different feeds on.
Precision 1.25 dishes has been talked about recently and i have one as well waiting to be another test donor.
The original front feed of the Inverto had already been lopped off some time ago so thought i would see if it would perform partnered up with the Precision.
I have another untouched original Inverto Ka/Ku on my 1.2 Gibby and one on my 1.8 CM to evaluate the modded one against...... Just something to try, might work might not, no pain no gain.
I'll set it all up on a temp stand or summat to give it a whirl.
Just a few pics toset the scene ....

.... Done a quick comparison between the 1.2 Gibby and the 1.8 CM on 16 East, Freq 21577H using Inverto Ka/Ku lnbf's on both ..... the 1.2 Precision is set up and ready to test tomorrow morning where i will do all three within a time space of about 15mins.

Comparison Results for Gibby & CM = 1.2Gibby is 10.5dB on TM 5402 M3 Rx. 1.8CM is 12.2dB on TM5402 M3 Rx. Just under 2dB increase on 1.8CM.

Interesting, is that saying that the CM is not so good for Ka? or does the TM5402 give you SNR rather than dB RF? If so, do you know the law for dB SNR vs dB RF? Theoretical difference, based on size, is 3.5dB. At that level, 2dB SNR is approx 3.5dB RF on my TBS for QPSK suggesting that you are getting good results if your dBs are SNR.
