Any reason for a 1.2m (and not larger since you are over UK planning requirements) ?

None really , obviously I'd take bigger , would just have to say it's not that big if the other half asked.

I have a 1.2m Channel Master here with a polar mount, jack and a vbox. I'd want some tokens for it though and it would need to be collected from Bristol area

Offset dishes will in the main have a greater dimension than 1.2m, but if you have good neighbours...
