Hi mate - it's the eternal how long is a piece of string question.

It depends on the threshold of your reciever, if your dish is a very good one,
(a good 80cm will keep up with a mediocre 1M) if it is damaged in any way,
the quality of your LNB (same above applies) the length of your cable run
and what you use to run it, and the weather. If you are on the edge of reception then you may loose enough signal not to see anytihng when it rains!
All to be taken into account. But the best thing you can do at the moment is
move the dish and have a look to see what you can find.

Good luck :)

I installed one last week 80cm Triax, but could only receive some ch on 1w. Could not get the Kiosk ones, had to change it for 88cm and everything was fine. Location was Wicklow, Ireland.

I am in lancs and struggle to get some of 1w on rainy/cloudy days.

I have a 80cm mesh dish and 0.6db lnb.

hoping that moving to 0.3db with improve things, if not i gonna change my dish.

whats better mesh or solid?

Changing your dish would be better as you will still get 1w with 0.6db lnb. Go for 88cm or 1mt dish first and then add the lnb at a later stage.
