Hi,

There's a 16APSK testcard currently active for the BBC on 16E if anyone wants to test equipment.

12701 V 7200 2/3 DVB-S2/16APSK.

Very similar software build to the TM5502HD & 5302HD these receivers can store 16 & 32 APSK in it's found transponders but are unable to resolve these transmissions.
Some of the satellite receiver's atm that can resolve these transmission,

HZ914 Multistream Satellite Receiver - Product - Newtec

Openbox SX has a great tuner. best I ever tested.
It beats also F15
But, It has a very important bug regarding motorized dish. when you switch from a satellite position to another the receiver loses signal. sometimes you can solve this problem clicking to disable limit function.
but sometimes it doesn't work anyway and it's pretty frustrating.
blind scan is Amazing, quick and very very accurate
it can catch tp with very low symbol rate
Multistream works fine only with non T2-mi and no PLS variant (10east/4,8east/12,5west) and it will not be implemented

4,8 east position is particularly interesting because of multistream FTA ukrainian channels that shows Champions League and sports like Kanal Ukraine and 2+2 Ukraine ususally encrypted in normal trasmission
same on 12,5 west italian mux (gazzetta tv for english champiosnhip and brazilian League), but in my case it's so interesting because I can watch these channels via terrestrial (I'm Italian)

best regards

SX6 is beating F15 only in DVBS, in DVBS2 is much worse.

..
The one I ordered from Germany should arrive this friday ...
In light of what you have said ..
I'm wondering if I should allow the box to control my motors ..or just use it on loop through from the F15 ?
btw ..
what is the latest firmware you are using ?
I shall need to check what the box comes installed with when it arrives ..

So ..I will be eager to test this box when it arrives ..
Could someone kindly list a couple of easy targets to aim for that the SX can resolve ...here in the UK ?

My SX6 has just arrived ..
Will get to play with it over the weekend I hope ..
unpacked to check contents ..
One of those silly 2 pin euro plugs ...but uses classic figure 8 mains connector so easily swapped mains lead..
An HDMI lead ..and a wireless dongle..
A substantial remote with batts ..and a fairly thick manual..

Good luck, with the new box, will you be using it on ka/ku/c band or just for the apsk channels?

TBH I will probably use it for frequent scanning and investigation of any interesting looking channels on all three bands ..
I now have a tower consisting of DRHDF15 (used for C and Ka only) stored channels ..
2x TM5402 ...one dedicated for Ku ...and the other Pvu only ..(stored channels)
So the SX6 ...will join the stack and be used to blind scan and investigate anything interesting referenced on our forums.

...and so ..
if I want to integrate this stb into my system I need to set/edit my V/Gbox already stored sat positions in the box ..not have the box set them for me (as the TM5302 -spit-) did ..
Thus I need a channel editor ..
failing this it will always have to be a slave unit on the loop out of one of my other set top boxes..
and so to my question..
What channel editor(s) are out there that will work with the SX6 ?
Anyone ?
..most references to this box on the web ..are russian ...which doesn't help me a whole lot..

Try to translate german with google translator. PolarEdit has some problems.
DXtv.de | Openbox | Satliste mit PolarEdit wird vom SX6 ignoriert
(Satliste mit PolarEdit wird vom SX6 ignoriert)
Solution is in the third page (forum has no post numbers). This is google translation from german (not a good one):
"When creating the Satliste no satellite may be newly added to existing satellite must be rewritten accordingly and be moved to the right Satposition. No matter which editor is used should max. 2 Satpositionen be changed. Then start testing the receiver and re-save it. Previously always create a backup. If this does not change with the editor a position, then carry them out directly in the receiver. I have used for my list 3 days. You have to be patient. For positioning with USALS least one transponder for the satellite must be available. This can be created directly in the receiver or Editor. For a blind scan all transponders in the receiver can directly be deleted except one."

I have not done anything with the editor. The box came with a satlist that does not have enought satellites for me. I use my box only for blind scanning with usals. If I need a new position I just change some old one for the time needed. It is really silly that you can't add new satellites to the box without pc. If I remember correctly the box has 10 000 memory places, 7 000 reserved for TV and 3 000 for radio.

There is couple of threads for openbox sx in dxtv.de DXtv.de | Openbox

Love World at 10East ,on Openbox SX6.

View attachment 83559

Just a reminder, the Qviart Receivers are 16APSK (and 32APSK) capable .
We already talk about it , I don't remember the thread)

old of my screnshots;

BBC feed @ 28.2°E
VRT Feed @ 23.5°E

no 32APSK TV screenshots, only one feed reported in C-band but I never found it by myself.

Ok so getting down to the nitty gritty, which box gets the most channels please ? will one get more than the other/both get the same ?

The openbox is better I think, the tuner is more sensitive, you can get the MIS stream (not with PLS) 16APSK , the blindscan is one of the best available on the market and this tuner can lock very low sr like 115 ks and the software is more frequently updated, you can easyly record ts file on a usb key even UHD streams and play it on your computer.

If you have to buy one of them, do not hesitate: SX6

Many thanks FS, the quickest scanning box I use is the X2 and it locks low SR, no 16ASPK :(, it does not appear to miss much but its not accurate, but I can live with that, I am after a new box and will go for this, thanks again.

I got my SX4 from Estonia, inside EU no customs. SX4 is 99 EUR and SX6 115 EUR Lobster OÜ: Webshop. When I bought mine the webshop did not tell the shipping cost, they emailed me a quote or something like that. SX4BASE has less memory than SX4 and SX6. I took SX4 beause it's smaller and it has external PSU. Easier to fix if PSU will have capasitor problems. If you use airtivi for watching 4:2:2 with computer, you have to put a USB memory stick into the box to make it work,
