My Satellite Setup
channel master 1.2
My Location
norfolk
Hi, could anyone tell me there signal stength on 16 east freg 12563 h which is a channel caled SIC INTERNATIONAL, im getting only 55% SNR on that transponder but also seeing BER, im using an octagon 8008.

Im also having problems with 7 west dubai racing freg 12418 h, im getting a picture which is blocking all over the place and also seeing BER on that freg as well, other channels like AD SPORT sometimes works fine, other times dont, and i get blocking.

Im in norfolk, in the uk, ive tried replacing the LNB but made no difference, im sure i use to get a higher reading on these, i would be greatful if others should give me an idea if they are getting a stable picture/signal using a 1.2 metre channel master dish, in and around London area.

Have the signal dropped on this transponders, or is the problem my end, most fregs on 16 east are strong, with no issues, and no ber

thanks

Sound like your dish needs aligning or you have obstacles in the way. Whats your motor setup ?

What decibel reading are you getting on a some channels on both 16e and 7w

hi, nothing in the way, its a 1.2 metre channel master, what readings are around the normal on sic international in and around london please.

Hello dan

???

ive never posted on this forum before, so who the heck is Dan, if its the guy from Kings Lynn then you have the wrong guy

This is my 1.2 metre dish, its been up for many years, must be 20 at least.
The dish has had a few different LNBs on it over the years.

Maybe it needs another one if your getting weak signals ??? Or it's out of alignment

yes, maybe that is why if someone could tell me there signal readings on sic international are they alot lower than other fregs on this satellite, this seems lot weaker than other fregs on 16 east.

thanks

are you using a polarmount & jack or an H-H motor?

useful info here

The LNB looks like it is at the wrong skew setting (and how did the wall brackets find their way onto different courses ?)

Take a picture of the whole dish and front end from the side and rear, somebody should be able to provide an answer.

Definitely there is a skew problem.
For the brakets I would say that normally they should be horizontal but on the motor side the installer had to place it lower so as not to hinder the movement of the jack.

Possible (looking at the holes they replaced the actuator more than once ;) )

16E is a funny satellite and always has been. Signal levels vary wildly from TP to TP, owing to many different footprints having different strengths. Feeds are always weaker anyway.

This looks like a 1m CM dish to me, not 1.2m. Though it could be the angle that the picture is taken from.

SIC is definitely weaker here but nothing that a well-aligned 1.2m (or 1m) shouldn't be able to handle.

Channel Hopper yes over the years its had about 4 motors on it.

Captain Jack that is a picture of a 1 metre dish, but that is a very old picture, it was replaced with a 1.2 but it still used everything, only the face was changed, and realigned, but good eyes.

I will take a picture later today, of the whole dish as it is today and post it later

zorrin

when people say the scew is wrong, i have played with the scew, ive ordered yet another LNB and will take my sat finder out with me, and see if i can get more out of the dish on 16 east, and you are spot on with the way the dish was fitted to the wall, it was down to the motor being very close to the wall, i wanted the dish to go as far east as possible.

Here is my reading from Greece, using Gibertini OP125L

This is how my dish is today, this is a 1.2 metre dish, the picture was taken with the dish at 1 west.

thanks

stel883 so also alot lower for you as well, from looking atthe foot prints there are 3 main footprints europe A and B and a spot beam which isnt over europe and the uk, but seems like there may be another one with this sic international on it, or they have turned the power down alot.

That is not a side or rear image.
