16e on a 60cm dish

I had hoped for better signal levels when they replaced the old Seasat bird at 16E but that never happened, FYI You should be fine with a 60cm on 39E, I remember good received levels on my Zone 2 $ly dish when I had it motorised a couple of years back.

16E seems to suffer from being sandwiched between the powerhouses at 13E & 19E even though Eutelsat 16A isn't a weakling itself - in my view, the signals from 13 & 19E combine to raise the noise floor at 16E, affecting the SNR of transponders received, the effect being worse on smaller dishes like 60cm due to its wider beam width. The cure usually is a bigger dish with its narrower focus helping reject adjacent interference better with the nice side affect of receiving a stronger direct signal.

39E should be easy enough to catch with a 60cm if you can get line of sight, at least for the Bulsatcom & T-Home transponders. Depending on location and the dish offset, when set up it might look like the dish is pointing slightly downwards when installed!

It took me a while to get 39e - i got 42e at one point! Its not as easy as the more powerful sats but its still very possible. The dish was one i bought from Maplin, a complete rip off but its served its purpose. I could obtain up to 72% quality on my old technomate.

Speaking from my own experience, 39E can be a little hard to find the first time next door to the Turksat powerhouse but once you have it locked on signal levels will be good (though RIK sat & Media Office are lower strength). Same goes when trying to look for 23.5E for the first time when they're sandwiched between 28.2E & 19.2E.

My first HD sat box was from there, got it during one of their promotional events, that's about the only time you can grab something at reasonable/good price in there.
