180 Echostar/Prodelin antenna typ? 1183, 1186...

Hello, sorry for my bad english.

I have a 180 EchoStar antenna polar mount. Probably made by Prodelin. But I miss the original feed holder + original feedhorn. Manufacturing year probably 2000-2003. Can you help me?

It is probably a 1186 with polar mount. Or 1183, but with polar mount. The were probably identical?
According pdf 1183 takes a feed 50 Degree (0.6 f / D) be the right one. But I find only 51 Degree feeds (ebay). If the difference seriously?

In an American forum ... there is also a similar theme with pictures. But I do not know whether those are left allowed here.

Welcome to the Forum.
And what a fabulous dish you have!

Definitely a Prodelin manufactured dish.

The reflector is the same for the 118x family (excpt for the high-winds version, but you don't have that).
Echostar seems to have OEM'ed (original equipment manufactured) the dish from Prodelin.
They did the same with the 120cm dishes, which are much more common.

The mount is probably an Echostar special, it does not look like any of the Prodelins.
I have a 120cm Echostar with a polar mount I have not seen in an official Prodelin context, but which is clearly a Prodelin design.

The feed holder and feed horn depends on your feed-holder arms.
I suspect from the pictures that you have no feed-holder arms at all (or what?)
You can buy these, and a feed-holder from Prodelin for the model 1183 (it's all to do with the reflector), or make your own as @RimaNTSS would tell you.

If you want to buy them, and as you are in Germany, you should have a word with Vertext Antenna Systems in Duisburg, they are the European distributor for Prodelin.

If you go for the second hand route, you can with no problem use the 51 degree feedhorns, you would not notice the difference from the 50 degress.
You are more likely to have a difference in alignment or in choice of LNB.

Please note that the feedhorn from Prodelin does NOT match the C120 of most Ku-LNBs.
If you intend to use a universal LNB such as the Inverto Black Ultra, then you need a non-Prodelin holder (they only make holders for their own feed-horns).
You are better off then making your own arms. Again, @RimaNTSS can help you out, he's done this before.

@meikel ! You have nice Prodelin (Primestar) dish at your disposal. Do not worry about original feedhorn.... out-of-shelf Inverto Black Ultra will work fine on this dish. If you are so eager , I could sell you original feedarms for this dish (exactly as you see on the attached picture, circled red).
And, in addition: I like a lot polar mount you've got on your dish, it is very rare one.

Even more interesting... what would you use this for? DXing? Feedhunting? 28.2E? 7W?

Hi, thanks for the messages. I have no bracket original feed. See image. The previous owner had then a ridiculous construction shot with 60 mm. I have joined a distance ring between. And then an Invacom quad 40 mm used. However, this construction is not particularly stable and accurate. This I give DB.

I would like a matching holder plus original feed. The feed arms had already set a little rust. I have since been resolved. The elevations actuator I also swapped. Became a venture Maxi Ball Screw Actuator ... with raincover.

@...RimaNTSS - I have interest. Do you have any pictures with higher resolution? If the feed holder attending or not?

For sure; different dishes- different feedarms. And what f/d ratio your dish has? Mine is 0.6 f/d, and construction of feedarms is little bit different, especially the lower one. I have adopted twin LNB to original Prodelin feedhorn, this couple shoved good results.

SAJT is a wholeseller and sells only to retailers. You could ask for example satshop.fi if he can deliver it to you

sorry ... I might not expressed myself correctly. The elevations control has the previous owner built himself. I have the bracket and the angle now improved. See new image.

I think @samoloko had in mind short axis (I painted it green). Good question. When you made rain-covers for the actuators why did not you close front sides (I painted red)? Can you make and post picture of all your dish-park (I see more than one on your picture)?

Sorry, I can not get this... my bad English.
For polar-mount of 1,5m PFA I have made snow/rain cover (guess what I used as a material). Maybe similar cover could also be made for 1,8m Prodelin? It is just food for sought.

No, that is 1/2 of 80cm offset satellite dish, I just cut it in half to make this cover ;)

I have the same dish, only with a newer polar mount.
Here's the polar mount without the dish.



And the feed holder (there a matching bracket across the top, which is literally bent in the same shape as the bottom part (I couldn't find it just now, but it is the same shape).



What does your feed-holder look like?
