What, no TV aerial roof ladder?

Blimey, the snow and ice look pretty settled in there, Rolf.

Was that the 1962 big freeze?

Yes probably Llew. :)

The ladders only came out on the odd occasion, as he was primarily a TV engineer, but did the occasional aerial. :)

Got one of my dad on a destroyer guarding two German sailors rescued from a sub :)

Or should we bring up old wartime memories?

It's something which happened and long time accepted, if they are interesting, then post them. I would prefer that they are from the poster's own lifetime and memories though. :)

Here's our old A40 Van outside my uncle and aunt's farm cottage in Warwickshire. :)

How about this one? Photo is from about 87, but the bike is a 1960 BSA M21 600 cc, was my second bike and was called the "Professor" :D

On the contrary, I could ride the thing with the sidecar up for as long as I liked - an experience that left many of my sidecar passengers with a severe case of sidecarophobia :D. My uncle, who was a combat helicopter pilot, (who used to crash his cropsprayer-ultralight aircraft once or twice - you got to be crazy fliying that thing) told me he had NEVER been as frightened as riding in my sidecar - and I even behaved myself and did NOT flick him up. When we arrived at our destination and I shut the engine he asked me very seriously (and pretty white faced) if I noticed the strange clicking noise when we rode. I was a bit worried, that bike was an old dog and always things fall off n'all - so I asked him pistons? Valves?? crankshaft??? He said no - it was his bollox banging against each other while he was shaking in fear :-lmao

Point taken. Maybe another thread sometime for some of our more unusual bygone family photos, though may bore some of the younger members to tears :-rofl2

Should have known by the headlamp shape. :) The LI had a round headlamp and the TV and GT had the hexagonal headlamp, very smart looking though. :)
