Hi All,

I currenty have a Sky sub , have the card in a DM800. I want to upgrade to HD, and as far as I know I need to put it into an offical HD box from Sky to do this. A buddy has a HD sky box , can I put my card into his box, then call sky and and get them to activate HD on my card, and I then take out my card once it turns on and put it back into my DM800? (I will need to change the boxid in CCcam.cfg of course).

So I guess tha question comes down to, can one box have more than one card paired to it?

cheers ... Wally

hello,
two offical sky boxes can not have 2 cards mated up.
if you call sky to get your card upgraded your mates box card will not work.
two dream boxes can use the same sky card in your house.
thats because the both have the same box number.

Thanks.

I have a non-HD sky box, and it's this boxid which I use for CCcam.

If I call Sky and give them this box no, could the HD channels then by activated I wonder? I.e. would they see that this is a non-HD box?

Rgds ... Wally

Best bet would be to buy a second hand HD box from ebay or gumtree, saves raising any suspicion.

They'll know that it's not an HD box so if you ring them then they'll sell you the box with the subscription as they'll know you don't have a Sky HD box. Sonic's advice is the only way, really, unless you can get a free one or Sky do a deal and give you the box free.

When you uppgrade your card to Ѕky HD, they will give you a free HD box.

You can use the Ѕky HD box to activate your card, then use the new box number in your DM800.
