2 Way Tap help

Hi All,

I have a two way tap that I need to change that has stopped working the specs for the 2 Way Tap are 10dB 5-2050Mhz the closest match I can find is 2 Way 12dB 5-2300Mhz will the difference in the db and mhz make a difference. The feed from the tap then goes into a multiswitch after the tap and out to the sky boxes.

Any adivce on this would be great.

2300Mhz is fine. The 2dB difference in tap loss wouldn't make that much of a difference, although of course the switch feed from it would have probably been commissioned/levels set allowing for a 10dB tap.

So if the multiswitch is :

SAT Inputs 4
TER Inputs 1
Outputs 16
Output Connector Female
Frequency SAT (MHz) 950-2150
Frequency TER (MHz) 47-862
Terrestrial Gain 4.0dB
Isolation SAT-TER ≤22dB
Isolation TER-SAT ≤22dB

would that new 2way tap work ok 12dB 5-2300Mhz with the multiswitch. The other taps feeding into the other 3 satellite feeds on the multiswitch will be coming from 2 way taps of 10dB 5-2050Mhz would this cause problems.

Ok, so single taps rather than 5wire taps. As said shouldn't be a problem.

Not sure what IF band it feeds, but I'd swap over one of the 10dB taps and make sure to use the 12dB tap for one of the low bands.
