21.5E (Eutelsat 21B)

I did one yesterday.Lots of transponders were from 23.5.I think that all the 12000 ones were.

Just returned home after allowing my TM 5402 M1 to blind scan 21.5 east and found it had scanned in a staggering 295 channels of which 103 are supposedly FTA.

Some, of course, will be feeds or perhaps strong transponders coming from adjacent satellites, haven't had time yet to check.

As for the 11,558 transponder, I'm getting a very healthy 71% this morning, under light clouds. The blind failed to find the solitary channel on there and so I had to scan it in manually.

(Triax TD110, IBU, NW England)/

I see that Flysat a of yesterday was reporting the addition of a total of 39 channels on the 10,856V and 10,919V transponders, both SR 27500. All of these Arabic channels are FTA and come in at around 57% with light cloud cover and locking nicely.

Yup: See Post # 811 et seq.:)

Are you receiving more transponders apart from those reported on Flysat?
If yes can you give us the frequencies?
I cannot do a blind-scan...

I'm surprised I managed one without bringing in 23.5E stuff: I seem to recall that happened during a previous attempt, so can only deduce my dish is a few tenths west of precise alignment.

........ so can only deduce my dish is a few tenths west of precise alignment.

Yes, tend to do this purposely on several sats to avoid the 'invasion' of the neighbouring bird!.....difficult some times to seperate.

Yes, but the downside is maybe missing a few of the weaker TPs.

Ho hum!

I wondered how you were doing a blind scan without mentioning 23.5 tp's being logged. I cant blind scan it on the td88 it logs them all of Astra 3.

Most modern receivers are a nightmare to jog slightly E or W.

Its essential for some TPs.

Receivers from the olden days of last century had the facility to do it directly using E and W buttons on the remote control.

95% of my sats are stored diseqc 1.2, you can jog it in the menu to peak a tp, but not direct from a button on the remote.

I only use the menus when I absolutely have to because it means loads of annoying key presses instead of a little dab here or a dab there.

The jog is so useful for weak TPs that it is a pain not to have it on the remote. I wish manufacturers would bring that back (and proper skew control).

It means that a dish farm is still the best option for weak signals.

Your acceptance angle is wider than mine, though - 1.1m dish has a narrower beamwidth. Possibly enough to make a big difference.

Every little helps. :)

The bigger and narrower the better.

I think you can easily jog on with v boxes, so one of those as well.

Here is the list with transponders which I found today on Eutelsat 1A-21.6E.On this satellite I found the lowest symbol rate of all I've scanned.:11599 H,sr.256,3/4-2 Radio Service

I have locked them both. Second transponder has some different sids from those reported on flysat

I think that change was inevitable >> The TP with the MBCs was Multistream right from the start
