Assuming one has a 4K telly will the DreamBox process the signal?

Dont think so due to the HEVC video codec

Im not so technical to know the awnser but wouldn't it be more efficient to use 8PSK instead of QPSK?

Well, the transponder is running on the same configuration as all the other DVB-S2 33MHz wide transponders in the band, so it looks like it's the setting SES has recommended for best results (the fine balance between reception vs bandwidth) and they are sticking with it at the moment. It's just a guess on my part but this could well change once all the old satellites have been replaced and signal levels are higher over the UK. They may then switch to a different configuration and squeeze more out of each transponder. But we don't know at this stage. For some reason QPSK seems to be favoured on these wider transponders at the moment.

SES and ITV are already testing some new FEC settings on two DVB-S2 26MHz wide transponders (ITV 11053H 23.0 3/4 8PSK) and (SES 11464H 23.0 3/4 8PSK) but these are only showing HD and SD tests.

Did some test with tvheadend. In VLC with http stream from tvh I get audio but no video. VLC is v 2.1.5 and I tested a HEVC file and it played without any issues. Also tested Kodi v14 but no video or audio from tvh but I can see that the stream is "running" mostly above 20-25Mbit/s. Tested both with HTSP and HTTP. Kodi also plays the HEVC test file without any issues...

Kodi updated to 14.1 if that makes any difference.

Upgraded to 14.1 but still no audio or video. It plays a test file fine (4096x1720) so maybe som problems with TvH...
