3 boxes, 2 dishes setup questions?

hi folks, been a bit of a lurker for a few months and enjoy reading the new posts every few days, anyway.....

i have a 1m motorised dish and a normal minidish.

dm600 in the bedroom is connected to the quad on the minidish and im quite happy at that as 28.2 is all i need on there!

downstairs i have an 800s in the lounge and an 800s in the conservatory.

basically, the missus only has any interest at all in 28.2e so the dish is never moved whilst she is watching the tv.

what i would like to do is connect both dishes to both boxes in such a way that 28.2 is only accessed on either box using the mini dish.

can i then also watch anything from the motorised dish on whichever box isnt being used for 28.2?

bearing in mind that the motorised dish is only single lnb, can i use the loopthrough on the 800 to connect 1 box to the other?

sorry if it sounds a bit confusing, ive tried to explain as best i can but if you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask!

You can't use the loopthrough, because the box that is being looped from would have to be switched on if you wanted to watch 28E on it, and the loopthrough would simply provide an IF out from a tp on 28E.

The only way I can think of doing it, would be to get another receiver and connect directly to the minidish, and use that it the room that will have control of the motor. Then you then could use the loopthrough on the 800s to supply the 2nd 800s. If the 800s works as a satellite receiver should do, the 2nd 800s would be able to control the motor with the first 800s switched off, and you should be able to diseqc in the feed from 28E.

so then, i put a twin lnb on the motorised and i have a quad on the minidish.

i need both boxes connected to both dishes, but 28.2 viewable only via the minidish so that whichever box the missus is using on 28.2, i can use the other box to either watch 28.2 or control the motorised dish to watch another sat?

fook me, im confusing myself!
 
Yes, if you put a twin LNB on the motorised, you will almost be able to do what you want, using a diseqc switch (hopefully) on both boxes. However, only one box will be able to control the motor, i.e the one that is connected to it.
