30 W Feeds

Thanks for checking!

I managed to dig out the tender regarding satellite carriage published by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The contract mentions the satellite distribution but also that there will be a transition period from the current distribution system. The winner of the contract was a subsidiary of Cellnex telecom (I.e the company formerly known as Abertis), which makes me even more sure that it will appear on 11347H via the Cellnex/Abertis system rather than a PLS transponder.
On another forum (sat-universe), I saw someone who read out the 11347 H transponder and saw some streams in some sort of IP format and scrambled... If that is the case... We will never receive the catalunya channels

EDIT:

Seems to be 11468 H and not 11347 H

I wonder how the Las Palmas DTT stations are being fed now they are not on 11347H. I used to watch the Volcano on TV Canaria. I can always go back to Reuters TV @22w to see how its going.

I guess they’ll be using fibre optic and microwave links for everything.

From looking at the Catalan CCMA documents, it seems like these regional public broadcasters put their whole transmission chain out to tender every few years, with some of the bids going for satellite distribution and some sticking to terrestrial feed methods. That would certainly go some way to explain why we’ve seen lots of musical chairs on 30°W over the years!

Definitely a shame to be missing TV Canaria, I suppose at least there’s still TVE Canarias on 11653H with the extended regional news at just before 3pm UK time.

Those feeds don’t have enough capacity to be carrying the Catalan multiplex, I’m now fairly sure it will appear at some point on 11347H or another Cellnex (Abertis) transponder, as they’ve won the contract (Tradia Telecom which is apparently part of Cellnex).

The full Catalan mux has now appeared on 11347H PID 2308, same 'arrangements' as the other multiplexes on this transponder.

WOW, I'm far away from my satellite system due to having to work in another town, and I can't view them!!! :(
Is the SD version in 2307 still there? Please some more screencaps!

Yes the stream with just TV3 SD is still there on 2304 too. I've been checking that one lots recently so when I checked it this morning I initially thought nothing had changed still, then I saw this - DVBS DVBS2 DVBS2X Bitrate Monitoring 11342 H Hispasat 30W :D

Some more screen grabs from the new PID 2308 :) -

I get a good deal of Catalan tv on an Android app which still works on my Panasonic tv,part of the Connected stuff
Will check whether it still works;
other apps have died out (obsolescence sure!)since I bought it 9-ish years ago
I should get a Chromecast of some sort...
It shows the TV3Cat live stream
and it s called TV3Cat

Has anyone seen a sign of the new Spanish national television station 7NN? It is a new channel that focuses on news. I guess we can expect it to appear on hispasat soon because the reception area of this channel would be nation wide. (Now it is only emitting in Madrid and surroundings, if I am correct)
also to expect is La Septima -7- (which wants to be the concur of La Sexta -6-) but it is possible that this station will replace an existing station on the Spanish TDT.

is it private or public?
if private,bound to be encrypted

Found this on Wiki about that "septima"
aaayyyy fascist propaganda in sight, connected to Fundacion Franco and VOX!!!bbbrrr
Cara al Sol in HD!
Certainly exotic !
and the website shows ...the live streaming of that tv frightening enough...the Spain of before

The TV3 streams are actually pretty good, I’ve had those through a similar “TV3 a la carta” smart TV app. TV3CAT (the international/rest of Spain version of TV3 that used to be FTA on Astra years ago) is in 1080p on there now which is great, however unfortunately they use 25p transmission so on anything “live” the motion looks very jerky.

They tend to show mostly the same programmes as TV3, just with imported films and sports replaced by archive content for rights reasons.

The bonus of the new Hispasat transmission is full frame rate and broadcast EPG. :)

what is the SID for this mux? I have tried 3307 and the usual arrangments as for the previous TV Canaria mux but I get no channels!

Update: Have that sorted now thanks to previous post!

Benidorm Fest Semi Final 2 (this year's Spanish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest).

Two feeds in MPEG4 4:2:2 on Hispasat 12002V 15000

The main broadcast feed, and a clean feed with no graphics.

Which boxes are used by broadcasters to receive DAB+ feeds? I would like to test such signal (not only at 30 West) but my linux skill is very poor, so I have no chance to build any linux-based setup. But I would like to know which type of professional receivers are used. Thanks.
