I currently have a 80cm dish and a 6 degree monoblock aimed at 19e and 13e. My question is can i get 4.8e and 1w with the same setup. I am from Nottingham

As the total spread is 5.8 degrees careful tweeking should get you the spread easy enough, although I doubt 80cm dish will pull in all available channels on both satellites from your location but someone closer to you may know better, are you after anything in particular?

Guessing that you want Viasat for the Football, you'd need a bigger dish of 1m, perhaps a little more, with 4.8E as the focal point.

I assume if upgrading to a 1m dish the original monoblock LNB would be no good as the spacing will change due to the bigger dish?

Good point - standard Monoblock will work on dishes slightly bigger or smaller than 80cm but, as you suggest, the alignment for the offset position might be rendered tricky.

So, one of the new fangled adjustable Monoblocks or a multi-LNB bracket might be a better way to go.

I had a go at moving my dish today. Managed only to get the Eurobeam on 4.8e, On 1w i get all channels with a good signal but on Canal + sports HD i do not even get a signal. Anyone know why

cheers

Have you looked at the Footprint for whichever Beam carries it?

Most likely that the dish is undersized - qv Post #2

Edit: Nordic Beams do indeed need bigger dish

Do you have a very recent channel list? or can you do a re-scan? If it's just the odd channel it's possible their frequencies have recently changed.

You'll have minimal to zero results with 4.8 nordic beam on an 80cm, I was getting 23% signal of low quality on the north east coast so upgraded. If you're after the 4.8e nordic beam and 0.8w I'd say 1.1m+ with an adjustable multi-LNB holder is a must, with 4.8 as the focal point.
