does it matter which 4 core cable to use with the vbox.
does it have to be shielded or will a roll of cheap network cable do
 
not sure on this one myself so i just bought some shielded 4 core from sat superstore to use on my 1224 motor

The 36v 3A (it used to be 5A) should be on low loss... low voltage.. multi strand copper wire .....similar to the very thick (copper strand wise) speaker cable.

Low voltage looses far more over a distance than the equivalent at high voltage. Using the recommended cable will result in more of the 36v x 3A getting to the motor and less strain on the power supply (the V box in this case). The pulse wires are less critical and a thinner multi-strand is usually used.

Using shielded is even better.....
 
Thanks guys. i was going to use whatever i had in the shed which includes a roll of telephone cable and a roll or rj45 type network cable. But it seems like might be worth getting some screened stuff. i need appro 60 feet.
The problem getting this online seems the cost of the postage due to the weight. I will try local stores such as screw fix, b and q etc
 
yes mine cost 7.50 ish for special delivery as i only needed 17metres of 4 core from an online site
