I've come back to this hobbie after a few years of being bone idle.
After digging out my old 80cm dish from the shed my wife promptly said that it wasn't to go back on the house and if I had to do this again she wanted something a bit more dicreet, like a sky dish zone 1!

So off I went to see what new wonders were about now, and I saw a 45cm dish with 4 lnbs that could rx 28.8, 19, 16, 13 all on the one little dish.
The trouble is I can't find the website again and I just want to know if I was dreaming or does such a dish exist, if so is it any good?

Cheers

Welcome to satellites forum,

28e, 19e, 16e and 13e is totally impossible as offset feeds on a 45cm dish.

The acceptance angle is far too wide.

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but a larger dish will be required with a multi bracket arrangement OR a smaller motor system of course.

Hi

The only small dish with 4 LNBs I know of is this one
_http://www.technisat.com/indexa85c.html?nav=External_units,en,54-30

It covers 13, 19, 23.5 and 28, however is meant be used in central/western Europe, not UK. So, I dont think it will be big enough to be useable.

May be you can use Sky Zone 2 dish and put it on a motor to cover required satellites?

Your problem is 16E, 80cm minimum is needed for 16E.

For 28E,19E,13E, you could indeed motorise a minidish zone 1.

Tell the wife, that sorry a minidish is too small, you must have a 1m dish.:-rofl2 and then compromise with the 80cm:-rofl2

Or what about a transparent dish 85cm?

The technisat dish was the one, but if its only any good in central europe then thats not for me.

I did have a 85cm Transparent and thats the one she moaned about.
I may be able to get away with a Raven 60/70cm I would be able to get 28.8, 19, 13 on that shouldn't I ?
I don't really mind Rainfade on 19 and 13 but defo not on 28.8 as the kids will give me hell if the Disney channel goes everytime it rains.

hi
Sky Zone 2 dish with a multi bracket you can recieve 28E,19E,13E,with no problem , but no 16E and zone 2 dish dont look biger than sky dish than you would not have a problme with the wife

I tested a 60cm Zone 2 and 19e and 28e are achievable.

If you want to go multi-LNb route then the 'Raven Gemini Range' would be ideal. The G70 in particular might be of some interest or Triax Td78 with 20º offset bracket.

hi satelliteman
when you tested a 60cm Zone 2 where did you point the dish to get 19e and 28e

Hi SM

where did you get the bracket to put two lnb's on a zone 2 dish.
I'm thinking 13o primary and 19o second. Keeping a zone 1 up just for Sky. Just can't seem to find a sutible bracket for a zone two.

I actually held a spare matched LNb by hand to see for 19e & 28e which was achievable for 9º spacing.

Some say a 6º monobloc can be used on this dish for 13e & 19e but I'm not too convinced esp.. using matched LNb's for eliptical dish.

hi again
first as satteliteman said a 6º monobloc will do for astra 19 and hotbird 13 or you can get a bracket for 2 lnbs
but i still say 3 lnbs can be done in the same dish i have done the same thing for someone in manchester and it was very easy and you live in london it should be more easy
