Hello,
I found carriers in RHCP at exactly 49.0° east. The Jamal 601 is located there and I can't find much information about it. Does this have an X band and could be checked. S-band???
With the TBS 9603X the carriers are very narrow band.

Is the signal still there now?

@dreamsat
Is the signal still there now?
Yes. It does appear to be at 49E although the 1.2m is not as accurate as dreamsat's 2.2. It is to the east of Syracuse 3a & 4a and stable so not likely to be Orion 10. I was using the 8.4G front end which is not ideal at 7.5G. There is a 50MHz wide signal as well as the group at 7495. The cluster below the main one is from Syracuse 3A, I think.

Looking closer, there is a band of transponder noise about 16MHz wide with the signals seen in the middle.

They all look like BPSK, some have discontinuous modulation e.g.

Some are continuous and there are a few different data rates.

(Waterfalls: 21.4MHz = 7495MHz)

I haven't a clue which satellite it is though. If someone can drive the ITU database, it may be identified.

I've been monitoring the signal for a whole day now. It is stable at 49 east.
Thanks s-band for the confirmation.:Y
I have convinced myself that this is Turksat 4B at 50E. See this from the ITU Space Explorer site. It's the only thing on the database between 48 & 50E with 7.25-7.75MHz transmission approved. The names used on the ITU system don't always match the common satellite names.

Note that the lower band of TP noise now has narrow band signals similar to those around 7.495GHz.
