The worst bit will be when the Remote shouts back at you. 'cos that's what'll 'appen.

The person using the remote usually shouts at me....

Actually I saw a load of others and deliberately chose the shortest one that showed the "Hello computer" clip.

In old LG 4K (UHD), 2 years, only has DiSEqC support for 4 satellites.
I did not think to look at the new ones that friends have.

In the tests, I use the loop output of the receiver to signal the TV, also a splitter other times.

This one I have is still only providing signals for 4 ports (diseqc)
But ...does claim to support a motor ..either usals or diseqc 1.2

I may well test it with a usals motor system soon..

So ..I've done a bit each morning ..trying to connect everything up ..
I'm attaching a diagram of what is done so far ..
My surround sound amp is an oldie but goodie and doesn't have video input switching ..so no hdmi here ..
though this might be replaced with something more modern ..eventually.
You might notice I have one hdmi input spare on one of the switches ..
I'd like to connect this to VCR corner which is over the other side of the room ..
This corner boasts a very expensive EX BBC Panasonic NV-HS950 which is coupled to a Panasonic DMREX771 PVR which does have HDMI ..whereas the VCR obviously doesn't..
I use this setup for Tape to disc or avi conversions for myself or customers.
But it is about 5 mtrs away ..cable wise ..
Is it practical to connect hdmi over a 5 - 6 mtre cable ?

They do sell 6m hdmi cables in both standard ..and flat forms..
I'm thinking a 6m flat might well be useful for under the carpet ?
Anyone used flat cables ?

There is also the ARC hdmi input still unused on the new TV ...but I'm leaving this unused for now ..but will likely end up sporting an AV surround sound amp at some point.

Tonight I ran some shotgun cable from the loft to the TV ..
I've tested it connected to the mini dish ..for Freesat ..
Tomorrow I may well test the cable with a usals setup.
I chose shotgun simply because of limited access for a new cable run..
Not easy getting from A to B in old houses..so although not ideal ..will at least suffice.
I hope
;)
..off for a well earned soak in the tub now..
