A scan of Al Yah 1 at 52.5 East today resulted in all four of the MENA beam frequencies being locked but nothing from the East beam.
One of the MENA beam frequencies (11977 H, SR27500) has quite a decent overhead with respect to the signal level required for a lock.
The other three frequencies on the MENA beam are all with FEC of 5/6 and modulation of 8PSK so require a theoretical 9.4dB to lock.
The list of MENA beam frequencies locked is below, followed by a few pictures.
1. 11977 H, SR27500, FEC 8/9, Modulation DVB-S2 QPSK, SNR to lock 6.2dB
2. 12054 H, SR27500, FEC 5/6, Modulation DVB-S2 8PSK, SNR to lock 9.4dB
3. 12130 H, SR27500, FEC 5/6, Modulation DVB-S2 8PSK, SNR to lock 9.4dB
4. 12169 H, SR27500, FEC 5/6, Modulation DVB-S2 8PSK, SNR to lock 9.4dB
