From your personal experience did you find that the 'entire internal length' was better or just 'the first couple of inches' ... asking for a friend
Full length seems to be the best option, length for strength, girth for mirth.

4.8GHz may be enhanced since the 229 flange has a cut off of just over 5.1GHz (designed in part to prevent cross polarised signals from an outgoing uplink interfering with the received signals). That certainly is a good experiment suggestion to try and has set my curiousity buds flowing - i think i've got a bit of ~41mm pipe somewhere which will slot into my exising feed throat as a sleeve. Some analyser grabs of full band frequency plots before and after the sleeve has been fitted could be interesting, especially what effect it will have on the 4.5 to 4.8GHz section of my reception as well as attenuation of the bad 5G around 3.680 and lower.

Well, I didn't suggest sticking it in front of a professional depolarisor cast around lower frequencies.Ok, starting off then - three grabs, Original 60mm I/D feed throat / 41mm I/D throat sleeve / 56.3mm I/D throat sleeve, sleeve's made from available scrap box metals. The experiment with 41mm I/D sleeve works but in the wrong frequency range. Anything below 4.5Ghz is dramaticaly reduced to the point of signal loss from 3.6 to 4.5GHz - signal very slightly degraded from 4.5 to 4.8GHz but getting through.
I'm pretty sure that the 56.3mm I/D sleeve marginally reduced the 5G signals without noticeably degrading 3.6 to 4.8GHz signal levels.
It would be interesting to try a 55mm I/D sleeve at some point but would have to buy in the material.
Looking at the feed entry pic, it shows how the sleeve will slide in and butt up to the Circular poloriser front input face - the Norsat 8000RI 3.6 to 4.8GHz is at RHC reception.
It passed away a few interesting hours to satisfy the curiousity i suppose but 5G interference, depending how close to the source you are is always going to be a tough one to eliminate successfully , if at all.
It might be interesting for people using an lnbf to experiment with inserting various sleeve pieces - you never know.

Currently there is no 5G within about four miles of here (I think I posted a few weeks back)I know you didn't - i used the simplest & least amount of effort required without dismantling my set-up to pass away a few hours - end of.
I look forward to your results
Lately some larger cities already have 5G and soon there will be expansion to other smaller cities. Here in Brazil there are already reports of interference and people are already looking for LNBF with filter.
Still on the analogue signal, there is a specific date for the shutdown because of 5G.

That's a shame but expected. 70W is Europe's only source of analogue via satellite!
I wonder if anyone in Europe (mainland, that is, for any snartarses) managed to receive this satellite.

Ireland, Portugal and perhaps a small region of Spain.
What am I looking at there?

Correct, though it does show elevation at the IP address (if not on a VPN).N2YO doesn't show footprints at all, only the over-the-horizon area.
So indeed a nice spillover, or maybe Star One D2 has an undocumented "blob" to cover an area around Portugal as well.
