Can anyone tell me where I can buy 8 or 16 way diseqc switches please. Are there any dealers who will deliver to Ireland? Thanks.

Can be bought on ebay for as little as £10 ..including delivery..from the far east..

I use one myself ..and can recommend it ..

Do not forget that there are Diseqcs 1/10 available on the market. Those are programmable, and also work in cascades.
 
The 8 way switches work in cascade also.

Found the switch on ebay, way cheaper than emp-centauri @ £50 plus £30 postage!!

The emp can be got for about £30 plus shipping from at least 2 of the site sponsors , plus it comes with a water resistant cover with all the connectors pointing downwards , unlike the one on ebay, where you would have to make/obtain a housing

Which ones?
I think £10 and a tupperware lunch box wins the day.

Red apple digital and sateuropa sell them in the uk.


Tbh though, im with you on price for a bodgit home use, but for a proff job,it has to be the emp.

.and the switching is done up in the loft space..
Yes there's a lot of cable involved ...but it has its advantages ..not least minimal weather exposure .
Living in one of the wetter parts of the UK ...I'm glad I took this route..

Yes,it means an awfully lot more cable runs if the switch is internal, particularly so for an 8 way, that could be horrendous, both aesthetically and the time/cost to install the runs. Out of choice, I'd do the switch externally every time, as water exposure is no problem when using devices designed for the purpose. Apart from that,running cables is just laborious.
 
You're right of course Robbo ...but for me the aesthetics don't really come into it exterior to my house ..
..and since the feeds come from various dishes in various directions ....one of which goes actually through the loft space to the dish on the back of my dads house...its not a bother to me.
..I do however agree cabling inside the house needs to be tidy ..
So mine run from the loft ..down to the various rooms inside the wall cavities..
Nothing on show ..but obviously ..there's a lot hidden out of sight.
I'd estimate ..I've used somewhere between 2 and 3.. 100mtre rolls
but then ..I am a little mad ..

Looked on Red Apple, they only had 4 way diseqc switches last night. Must check Sat Europa.

Hefty delivery to Ireland though!
 
I have a couple of Technomate 4x1 diseqc switches, are they cascadable? If so how would I do it?
 
They will be diseqc1.0 switches, and are not cascadable.
