Hi There
I have 3 satellites up in my back garden with 5 lnbs. Currently i have 2 4 way diseqc switch bringing tv signals from the 5 lnbs into 2 tvs in the house. If i changed the 1 of the 4 way diseqc switches with an 8 way one would i be able to have the 5 lnbs into 1 tv with 3 more spares incase i nedd to add some more lnbs.
ive never seen 8 way before but ive seen one on ebay, does anyone know if this would do and if so is this a good price for this item or are they available any cheaper. i dont mind what make it is.

Item number: 370448470795

Any help is appreciated

Yes, the above 8 way looks okay for the job.

The most popular makes of diseqc 1.2 switches are Spaun, EMP-Centauri, and Vantage.

All are good, and Vantage are often the cheapest.

Does anyone know of any other good places to buy these disecq swithes other than e-bay. I cannot see any Vantage on ebay

I'm not sure that Southern Satellite lists them on his website, but he has gotten my both the 8 way and 16 way EMP Diseqc's in the past.

Does your reciever support Diseqc 1.1 ?, if not it won't run a uncommitted switch, but if you go for the EMP switch you can control it with diseqc 1.2, basically it pretends to be a motor as far as the reciever is concerned.

Yes my receiver supports Disecq 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2. If i buy this 8 way switch is that all i have to purchase to have 5 lnbs coming into my receiver from one cable?

Yes, just swap it for the 2x 4 ways.

Thank you for all the help. I have one more question didnt think it was worth opening a new thread and i guess this may be a silly question but here goes. One of my satellite dishes is 90cm and i have a multi lnb bracket on it. At the moment i have 7e as the main satellite and 13e on the bracket. There is room for one more lnb on the bracket but im unsure which other satellite would i comfortably be able to receive. I have 9e, 10e, 19.2e and 5w covered on other dishes. The only other satellites that is of interest to me are 0.8w, 12.5w. 30w, 16e and 23.5e.
Not sure if there is a better way to receive all or some of these satellites. Currently i have a 1.2mtr dish pointing at 10e and picking 9e same time. I have a sky minidish on 5w and another minidish on 19.2e, eventually i will purchase a 60cm dish to replace the two minidishes. And the the 90cm pointing at 7e and 13e on the multi lnb bracket.
Sorry if its all sounding confusing but i really do not want to motorise as i think the disecq switch sounds better for me. Thank you

Don't know about comfortably, but 0.8W shouldn't be too bad.
