My Satellite Setup
1m ? dish pole mounted in back garden, bigsat hh motor mount, 0.2db universal single lnb, technomate 1000c1, viaccess 2.5 cam, 1yr art subs card

hello my bro is looinking a setup to get hotbird for art sports i have ordered him a technomate 1500 ci and the card but i have a dish sitting in the house off an old analogue system it is an 80cm dish will this be large enough to get hotbird or would he need a new one. cheers:-doh2

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

It'd be fine on HB as long as it's not damaged or rusted, and also fitting a new Universal LNB (0.3dB is the usual purchase for most users) would be a good addition too as you could have an old Enhanced LNB (or even a very old Single band LN:cool: if it's a really old dish...

cheers for the response. the dish is about 2 yrs old so i will look into getting a new lnb. thanks again

If the dish is only 2 years old it should have a universal lnb on it. Standard & Enhanved types disappeared years ago. Have a look at the lnb before you buy - it will probably say either LO 9750/10600 or universal on it.
