The Gibertini 1M dish outperforms all other similar sized dishes in the UK today.
I know they are good but are they that good, better than a CM 1m?

eBay item number:

Well, a Gibertini 1m dish is a very good one and very easy to work on. I wouldn't put it above the 1m CM dish, though, as it's aluminium based and will wither/warp long before the CM will.

When I very briefly tested the 1m CM, I found it to be extremely good for its size on a few weak transponders. I never owned a 1m Gibby but installed one for someone. To be honest, I was underwhelmed when I was comparing it to my Penta 85cm - better, of course, but not much better. And before @RimaNTSS has a chance to comment, the comparisons should very much be taken with a pinch of salt as they were in different locations (20 miles apart) and different times of the year. And were used for less than a few hours.

I have been looking at that one.I want a dish as good as my orbital for the other end of the shed.
But what I ask myself is, is it 20 odd quid better than the orbital.I think probably not.

Without looking at the auction in question, I doubt there a set of performance figures entered by the seller to back up the claim.

As mentioned, there are other very good 1metre dishes out there, a number of which will have superior build quality and additional material, either in the reflector, or as reinforcement, that make for better performance under poor weather conditions.

Gibertini is a very good bulk dish manufacturer, I doubt they would be associated with this type of selling tactic.

Am I missing something? Where are they claiming that a Gibertini is better than a CM dish?

Just checked the auction

The Gibertini 1M dish outperforms all other similar sized dishes in the UK today

And the seller is one of the UK importers of Gibertini, their pricing is extortionate.

Hisat was a good company in the past - I bought a few things directly from Tony's "home shop" when he was in Bristol. Now it seems to sell outdated and generally overpriced stuff.

HM Sat in Germany are doing a standard 1M Gibertini for €69 + del. An XP Premium 1M Gibertini is €89 + del. (I have the XP 1M)

Am I missing something? Where are they claiming that a Gibertini is better than a CM dish?
In the Ebay listing it states "The Gibertini 1M dish outperforms all other similar sized dishes in the UK today"
I looked at another site which makes the same claim. CM 1m is available in the UK I suppose.

Is the 1M Premiumn a good dish?

Overall I'd say yes. Construction is excellent and having previously been on the motor and now as part of the multisat setup it's performed really well with no signs of rust.

Thanks for the info, I think I will settle for one of those and done with.
