A little help - motor dish set up.

My Satellite Setup
Dish on the wall with buttons on a remote we press to watch tv on
My Location
Bournemouth
Well putting the instructions into idiot terms here this is what I have done

1 put pole up made shure it's all level and straight
2 bolted everything to pole motor (set to 0) and dish making shure everything is straight so if I looked at pole from the back it's all straight along to the lnb
3 now I look for Thor? (south satellite here in Bournemouth?) Without moving the motor from 0 but adjusting the other movements till I find it as a little confused about this 1W
4 when I finally find Thor and I've got a good signal I bolt it all up and that's the motor set up?
5 then I can fine tune adjust anything if I have to but what I have done should be about right ????

Having a longitude of 1.8°W, you'll need to motorise the dish to 1W via USALs before alignment.

Sort of right....

Check pole is level left to right and front to back after the dish/motor has been mounted.

Point dish/motor assembly due south from your location (check on Dishpointer)

Send dish via receiver to Thor (0.8°W)

Peak it up on Thor when located (scan for channels to check it's correct sat)

Nip up bolts, check other ends of the arc, adjust if neccessary and bolt up.

I have a dark motor DiSEqC H-H mount I see USALs on the receiver but there is no mention of it in the motor instructions ?
 
The Darkmotors are compatible with USALS nevertheless. Use your receiver to send the motor to Thor, before aligning.
 
Yes the motor is USALs compatible.
 
Ok thanks got that just looked up my lat long but when I go to put it into receiver window opens says longitude degree where I put the numbers in but under that it says longitude direction that says east is that correct ? Or do I have to change that to west and latitude north or south setting ?
 
Longitude= West, Lat = North.
 
USALS may not that accurate (in some locations) for finding the satellites on ether side of your due South bird, this is due to the input resolution of the users location, you can be off by several degrees,(East or West) it will put you in the general area of the bird your looking for, you then may have to move the dish with the East West controls (< or > buttons) on the remote to tweak in the signals, once you find and tweak the bird in save the position.

I wish they would allow the user's location to be set to 6 decimal places (WW.xxxxxx LAT by YYY.xxxxxx LONG) this would save some people some hair.

On my SG2100 it only allowed 37.6 N by 119.9 W this was off by enough to miss the outside birds at my true location.
