A magic eye question

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me, which is, can you have two magic eyes working off of 1 Sky+ box?

I have just upgaded to Sky+ and have a Thomson box. My problem is that the Sky+ box is situated in an understairs cupboard, and feeds an LCD hanging on the wall the other side of the cupboard. I have a magic eye plugged directly into the RF2 socket which then goes through the wall and hangs behind the lcd. This works brilliantly!

I've then run a cable from the Sky+ upstairs to my bedroom and the picture is received ok. But, if I connect another magic eye to the end of this cable, in the bedroom, nothing happens. The little red led doesn't come on. I have swapped the eyes over to eliminate a faulty eye.

So, i'm assuming you can't have two eyes? If i'm correct do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get around my issue?

A couple of things to think about
Voltage needed for remote eye only available from RF2 outlet
Any short between the braid and the centre conductor on the cable will short the voltage stopping the eye working.
If you put a splitter on the RF2 outlet (which you will have to do) it must be capable of passing the power through it. Simple "Y" splitters usually let the power through but some others do not.

Basically you have to split the RF2 outlet and feed one to your LCD and the other to your bedroom. I think up to 3 eye´s will work ok.

You will need a two way amp to split the output of the Sky+ box, as the TV link does not pass the requisite 9v.

Will I have to? Do you mean to make the two eyes work or to watch on two TVs?

The LCD is fed by a scart lead directly off the Sky+ box, and the bedroom TV via the RF2.

If I fit a splitter directly off the RF2 feed then an eye off of each of the split RF feeds will work? Sounds like a good idea which I will try. Thanks for your help :-)

Ah, such as the T120? his connected directly to the rf2 of the SKY+ box should sort me out?

Yes, probably overkill, but you may have problems with a passive splitter. :)
