Has anyone had anything from this sat in UK (talking to you, aceb!)? It's around 0.5 degrees elevation in Dover with the MENA beam touching it.

There's Qellat TV on 12588H SR1700 3/4 DVB-S2 QPSK.

I think for this one you really would need to be on the cliffs at Dover, and probably with the tide out :D I don't think Mike can push his motor that extra 1.5° to even look, from what I remember there are no adjustable limits on the Darkmotor?

Just for a laugh I thought I'd see where the cut off is and it's a bit closer than I thought. The nearest spot from here is very close to Beachy Head, in fact 20m east of the road is the point where Satbeams says it goes from 0.0° to -0.1° but of course Beachy Head is about 500ft higher than the easterly horizon the other side of Hastings so with a big enough dish it *may* be possible from Beachy Head, should have asked me back in the summer before the 1.2 was installed!

Not sure about Dark Motor's adjustments but I can reach 72.1E from 2.7W location, so that's at least 74.8 degrees by default on it. I haven't tried pushing it beyond that as there's nothing to see there for me.

The signal fading at elevations below 3 degrees is very big, 0.5 degrees is critical!

When Qellat started on da brand new Apstar7 I tested it with Triax and I manage to receive it.But on the same day
.beeing a sunny one I fixed a C band lnb on my 80cm dish pointed to 75E and I got TVM (Maldives) with very good signal. The C band signal from Apstar 7 is very strong nowadays. In my opinion the only way to get Apstar 7 is C band trying TVM which is dvb-s and 1/2 FEC , not hunting some hard2catch DVB-S2 signals .Let me know if U or smb tested Apstar 7 in U.K.

Just to post further info although not residing in the uk.....Down here in Malta I could receive this Sat with quite a good signal on 'Qallet'. I will try to post an attachment for it.
