My Satellite Setup
Dream 7000 + 7025
Sky+ box, On-Dig,
3 laptops, 1 desktop, Win XP and soon '7', OSX on one laptop
My Location
London UK
I have been using satellite and programmable cards for years and until recently very content with sly through my dream 7000 until the recent changeover to the white card.
I also had to upgrade the box because it was getting worn out, so a 7025 was purchased but I never got this receiver to work with the blue card let alone the white.

Today I asked a simple question, is there a definitive solution to this problem, http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/dreambox7025/163073-definitive-answer-sly-white-7025-a.html

To my utter amazement, I got the reply from a bright spark - insulted is an understatement - how dare he.

Now
Does the white card work in these receivers - YES or NO
If YES, then how do we get the box to talk and step by step so I can double check instead of guess

HELP
Chris

All of the information is here already, you just need to read the thread you were pointed to, nobody has the time to go through it step by step on a one to one basis unfortunately.

The new white card works at the moment, but how well it'll work when the new encryption is transmitted is another thing.

We try not to keep restating the same information and, in what is essentially a self-help forum, it's quite usual to refer many queries to the existing stock of Posts and Threads :)

He dares because nobody can demand help in these forums - friendly people provide help because they want to. The specific topic has been discussed to death and you should read the referenced thread. If you have and still can't make it work, he is right, if you haven't now is a good time to do it. It even contains links to tools to help you and I hope you thank the developer (B16MCC) for his time and effort.

Its got nothing to do with the receiver. Its the EMU that matters. And the answer is YES. At least for now.

Hi
Thanks for a thumbs up, the reason for this long winded question is simple.
When I read through about 95% of the thread, I could not make up my mind if this worked or not, then someone changed the subject and it all went in another direction - god I wish people would not do this.

In consideration of the past of not being able to get the blue card working with this receiver, I had serious reservations on the success of the white card and my feelings were confirmed.

I would appreciate some guidance on to how is the best route, but if you feel this would be hard work then I will have to ask a professional and pay for the privaledge and forget this site.

In consideration of what I have been through this past month, it is the final kick in the groin - thanks

There is only one route at the minute. No matter what image you have on your box. You need a newcs/cccam combo cam.You need to know the boxkey of the box that your card is paired to.When you have this all the the info on what to do is definately on here, B16mcc's config creator will generate the required config files you need to put in your dreambox to get the cams working.

How did you not get the blue card working? All that was required was a download from your image makers serverdirect to your box and then put the card in the box .

I have a bit more time on my hands than most others and would be willing to tell you the process from start to finish.

If you download teamviewer 4 Ill do your setup remotely.

I wouldn't give up on it.

The fact that you couldn't get it to work with your blue card would suggest that you are probably just missing something simple.

First of all, is the card reader even working? I wasted the evening last night fiddling around with config files and thinking I had done something wrong, only to discover that I was doing nothing wrong. The card reader in the box I was working on is faulty.

Is the card being detected?
Before doing anything else, start up NewCS166 with the default config file, then log in to _http://DreamBoxIP:8080 (youll find the username and password in your newcs.xml file)

Under 'readers', check that the card is being detected. This wont be a working solution, but at least you'll know your hardware is good and you can take it from there.

The "bright spark" you refer to is a long standing member here who has contributed more than his fair share, so you wont win any friends with the attitude you took in post #1.

Seriously worth considering with the attitude you have taken.;)

chrisfound, firstly please appreciate the time and effort people put into researching things like this. When someone comes along 3 months down the line and wants it working in 5 minutes the instant reaction from those involved is of course, anger !

There are many people who frequent this forum most of whom are very knowlegable people and usually willing to help. However they won't do your reading for you. I appreciate the thread is getting very long now and some information does move off the original topic in places. With this in mind I've made a post in that thread to hopefully summarise where things are right now and stop this happening again.

Thread closed guys, Again.
