A Site with Vintage Test Equipment

I started looking for some images of meters, since I have just uncovered one in the shed that looks like it could be from the 1940's.

Meters and Test Equipment

The nearest I could find is the Everett Edgcumbe unit shown,

though mine has the wording GPO and No2 on the front. Mine does have the similar textured metal alloy casing but with all the connections on the top, additional wording G'26 and 237 underneath

designed for checking telegraph wiring I can't find anything that is similar anywhere.

Some pointers to other sites I could browse through would be good.

Done that, nothing similar.

A lot of sites show the Detector No4 but nothing earlier. I am assuming what I have is a No2 from the description potentially from the 1940's.
The case looks bombproof, and the thick glass dial shows a range of 50/500 Milliamps (and 5/50 Volts in red) like its descendants but has the screw terminals up top.

Four flat blade screws hold the front to the chassis, but I'm not going to undo these quite yet, even though I assume there is a battery somewhere inside the case.

I will get some pictures up tomorrow

Not far off, cleaner (of course), what does the site claim it to be ?
