access point..no can do

Hi guys...
I recently purchased a linksys WAP54g access point to have my 500 constantly connected to the net...not happening. I have it configured properly thru my PC but when I connect it to my 500 nothing happens..I've gone thru BG's "how to" in the idiots section but still no joy...I have it directly connected it with a straight thru cat cable, the only thing I'm not sure about is the communication settings that I have to input into the dreambox..I'm baffled..anybody got any ideas..

Is it an Ethernet bridge? When connected to your PC can you access the internet? Does it have an internal IP address? If yes then use that IP in your Dreambox communication page (guessing). Try a search on "ethernet bridge".

Are bridges and access points the same? I thought they were different (without googling it).

Found out what I was doing wrong...putting the wrong IP address in the Dreambox...running fine now 2
