I spent at least a year in my youth learning the clarinet, before giving up spitting blood down the instrument following a winter split lip that has never healed. My father used to play a much easier version to the B flat type, (C ?) and sits on the shelf above me.

RIP Acker...Him, Kenny Ball and Chris Barber introduced me to music that wasn't 'classical'.........

Stranger on the shore was an absolute classic. My wife had been trying get to see Bilk, Ball and Barber for many hears but they were always on when we were away! Now there's only one left...
