Actor Richard Kiel has died just three days short of his 75th birthday in California a week after breaking his leg. Most famous for his role of Jaws in the Bond film The Spy who Loved Me he has been appearing since the early 60s on TV. He later returned as Jaws in Moonraker, one of the few villains to reappear.
He had most recently appeared last Sunday in a pre-recorded edition of the Radio 4 series The Reunion with many former Bond alumni including Roger Moore and Britt Eklund. Roger Moore was said to be distraught at the news of Kiel's death. The programme is repeated tomorrow (Friday) morning on Radio 4 at 9:00pm.
