Tony Curtis has died of heart failure aged 85.

He was a star of films such as 'The Defiant Ones', 'Spartacus' and 'Some Like It Hot', co-starring with Marilin Monroe and Jack Lemmon, and 'The Persuaders' TV series with Roger Moore.

Very sad news. "Some Like It Hot" is my all time favourite movie. I think he was perhaps underrated as an actor, as I think his performance in "The Boston Strangler" was very good. I think Kirk Douglas is about the last surviving "Hollywood" star of my era.
 
Yes I cannot count how many times I have seen "Some Like It Hot", never fails to amuse me. RIP Tony

On a lighter note, I loved the story of how Lew Grade got both Tony Curtis and Roger Moore to star in 'The Persuaders' by promising each one that he would be the first name star!
