Been discussed many times already but did we ever get a definitive answer regarding Von Weisse outside of the US ?
Since Jaegers demise all we appear to be able to buy in Europe are sh1tty brand superjack...
Let me assure these are anything but Super..
I'm getting through roughly 1 every 12 months now..
The last one being a so called heavy duty one from Red Apple ...and is already grinding and noisy lasting less time than the basic 24" superjack..
In short these are crap ..and imo nothing but a money spinner for sat companies.
at around £90 a pop it's false economy ...
Lucky US BUD owners got access to quality gear but sadly we don't ...
I'd gladly pay double the price of a HeavyWeight superjack to not have to swap it out every 12 months..
In short ..I'd like a 48 pulse count per inch 24" Von Weisse ...but where to get one this side of the pond ?
Do the US export 'em ...?
More to the point ..does anyone in Europe Import and re-sell 'em ??

I've been quoted $150 postage for a ball screw Venture one and is one I would want. Preferably through a 'contact' so we can avoid import charges. Like I said when we met, I am happy to be part of the 'group buy' ...even if it's just you and me.
 
I was going to send for one, but now ive seen the Jaeger in action I will be keeping my eyes peeled for a couple of spares.
 
I think I'll be going for the 1224 on the offset 1.8. But since I now have a PF on too and a spare actuator to go with it, I still need a good jack...
 
FYI: A professionnal friend has Venture actuators in stock , with a special 18" size production. (only few items available)

Nice find! But expensive... But less hassle than getting it from the States... hmmm
 
That's the firm I usually buy gear from here...they have my reccommendation...
 
Damned pricey that is ...by the time you've added the postage and tax on a 24" Venture you could be looking at £400 ..

Still on the lookout for something better but had little choice for now ...
Red Apple appears to have no or limited stock ...and HiSat are too expensive...
So for now did a search on ebay and found a London based company selling 2 of these for £73 delivered ..
So bought 2
Are these getting scarce or something ?
If so it's time to start making a list of sellers ..

Just a note I bought a "super jack" from hi sat and he sent me a "super power jack"

Suspect they are all much of a muchness Chris ..
What we need is superior quality ..like the Old Jaegers
or better..

Quite agree there isn't much choice, my gripe was he sold me a genuine power jack and sent me a super power jack.

And charged me for the genuine one!

If he told me it was a super power jack then, I wouldn't have minded, as you say there isn't much choice.

Well TBH I didn't read the feedback ..
On account I was desperate to get Christina working again in a hurry..
If it's non genuine but still works ..so be it ..
As I said ..what choice is there really ?
I dont believe the last 3 I bought ..2 of which were from Red Apple were 'genuine' either ..both failing after 12 months ..
The last one paid over £100 for ..and its already pants..
I suspect the ebay ones are prolly from the same source ..but much cheaper.
It doesn't seem to matter where you order from ..
you never get what you ordered (brand-wise)...or the quality you paid for ...
Totally disheartened with this particular subject..so might as well buy cheap shyte..
As I said already ..what choice is there ??

btw I am still interested in a piece of the action on a bulk US purchase if it goes ahead.
Hopefully the jacks bought today are just a stop-gap.

Oh ..and they probably know they dont last ..thats why they sell 2 for the price of 1 ..

I understand your predicament and it's annoying. I still want to go with some American actuator but it depends on whether I go with the jack in the first place. Might just use the 1224 for the 1.8m..
