AD 3000ip Serial port

after upgrading to the latest firmware (1100) the Serial port on my Echostar AD3000ip stopped working, now I am unable to change back to the earlier firmware version, or use Setedit.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this problem, also the approximate cost?
 
Are you certain it's not a COM port configuration problem with your PC? Does the RS232 output work OK with another receiver, if you have one?
