I use this littel addon for my Chrome browser, and it is amazing.

Usually when I watch an online stream, especially when not full screen, I get all the time these annoying pop-ups, and you get those adverts on the side with slags trying to entice you to join dubious chat sites or whateever.

SO I turn off the auto plugin play in Chrome, and with this little thing, nothing :)

I was atching a football game for maybe 10 minutes, see how much was already blocked :D (top right corner)

Ive been using it for years - Its a necessity on a slow connection as the damned ads can slow page loading a horrendous amount.

Its nice to be able to play you tube videos without bloody adverts before them!

I didnt mind when it was just text adverts, but then the advertisers discovered pop up pages, pop under pages, adverts with bells & whistles in them to attract your attention, browser traps when you mistakenly click on them and gawd only knows what else. So sod them.
 
ABP is a needs-must for slow ADSL connections: Been using it for years.


Do install the Prebake Filter in addition to EasyList and Fanboy's.
 
Use it on Opera browser.

I've been using Adblock in its various forms for years with Firefox; now I use Ghostery as well :) Whenever I'm using a browser without these installed I find the experience far too visually noisy :) (ie a PITA)

Women ARE my thing but these skunk pussies are not. And anyway, when I want to watch a football game I am fully focussed on that

Yes I suppose watching life streams will expose you to that, but thanks to the clever people of ABP I can enjoy them now much better
 
I can't say I'm surprised the big players don't like it up 'em: But at least later on in that piece there is mention of the flawed nature of the Advertising model.

And I bet those arrogant so-and-so's don't have a clue about ADSL poverty whereby many of us have to disable as much content as we realistically can, simply in order to perform basic browsing functions.

(That said, only a few weeks before I switch to the 20Mbps non-copper solution I may have mentioned elsewhere!)

But I shall spend far less time staring at a screen getting enraged and shouting "Come on"!
 
Be able to ditch the statins when that happens!
