Hello... i need to ask how to import new satellites? I have card sharing on a DM500 Dream Box, quite good and the system is great. I have a rotating dish, and now I need to import Badr (arab sat) i have nile sat, but the dish has a long way to go from 28 to 7w! Can any one help me on how to import new satellites onto the satellite menu? I use dream box edit... please help! :) Thanks.

ceevee - new thread created, please don't hijack.

Please read the Guide, this will answer your questions about how to store and scan satellites.

Short answer is go to Motor Config, move the dish to the new position e.g. 7W, store the position and then scan.

Many thanks.. i'll see if i can manage :) Thanks for your help! :)

personnally, I'd save my bouquets, download one of the latest rotational channel packages such as pet or Captain Picard, delete all the user bouquets from it, and re-import your old user bouquets (with dreamboxedit).
that'll give you the latest satellites.xml you need while keeping your own bouquets.

But if you haven't stored the satellite position the channel list will be of no use.

Try it- delete a stored satellite position and select a channel on that satellite. But keep your eye on the dish in case the motor drives it into a wall.. ahem ;)

of course I store the new satellites.xml, otherwise there wouldn't be any point in doing the whole exercise, would it ?
1. store current bouquets
2. download & install new channel settings
3. read new channel settings into freamboxedit
4. delete all bouqets
5. import bouqets from the saved version
6. send everything back to the dreambox
works every time for me.

how to import new satellites

Nothing to do with bouquets, although I do it the same way as you've posted above.

yes, and no. When importing the new satellites, you loose your existing bouquets - they are replaced with those from the package you installed. So after installing the new satellites, you need to get your old bouquets back, so it is related to the question.

But you're not importing satellites e.g. stored positions, you're importing a bouquet/ channel list.

If this list has 30W channels but you've not stored a position for 30W then your motor will turn who knows where. gotoxx doesn't work on a 500s either...

But how did the OP get on? Problem solved?
