Adding declination control (Fibo 90)

57E to 58W, C-band and Ku, DVB-S2, 4:2:2 and blindscan.
My Location
38.5ºN, 0.5ºW
Just a mock up at the minute, built from stuff I had laying around. No actuator yet either. A DARL 3608 or 3610 should be good.

that looks exactly like what I would like to do if only I had the rear mount!!! I have the polar mount but can't find a supplier either of original or mod - am trying to make one meantime but any info anyone has would be very welcome indeed

Can you post a picture of your mount?

If you want a fixed mount you can probably get one here (just send an email to them telling them what you need):

is the actuator going to be fitted at the bottom to push the dish out to make it point up when needed ?
 
Bit off topic but is there anything other than an actuator you could use?

have emailed germany and await reply - its just a standard fibo 90 cm rear mount- if anyone knows of a uk source new or used i am very interested- apologies for slightly off topic but thanks for help

Yes. It will push the 2 arms apart. Geometry is such that the actuator is at 90º as it crosses the arc. Dish starts more than 10º below the arc, and goes up plenty more above it. There's no play and the action is as smooth as silk.

Why re-invent the wheel? A 3608 is only 19€.

Lets see how you get on, otherwise you'll have to make something from scratch. Probably easier than it first appears.
 
I have some brackets that might fit but will need re drilling- lets see how we get on...

Huevos , I build it for feedhunter Snuffer , just made a test on stable sats .
But even when you think your alignment is OK , there is always that little doubt-devil who makes you think , maybe a little bit up or down give me a better signal .
Therefore i have also a elevation actuator on my 120 Fibo

I got an actuator with an 8 inch stroke (smallest I could find) but it was still too long so I've had to cut a piece off it.
