With all the HD TV channels, none I've seen ever show any adverts in true HD, they are all upscaled. Yet I would have thought the advertising world would be the first to want to show their products in full HD. Why would this be?

Just making conversation really!
 
Such things entail costs, so I guess that's one factor.
 
There are plenty of HD adverts online, so I would expect the cost of supplyng it to the medium, and the potential audience figures would also be taken into account.

Besides, true HD format programming (1080p) is still a rare thing on UK TV, especially when it has gone through the payTV mangle.
