whats the best option to adjust elevation through one control unit?
 
Insufficient information: In respect of what size and type of dish? What means of azimuth control are you using or proposing to use?
 
Are you talking about inclined orbit tracking?

Thats really only of interest if you want to watch news or sports feeds, and I dont think there are many inclined birds covering the Middle East
 
as far as i know they use a combination of HHmount and actuator or something like that to take control over elevation.
in my location east/west is not enough i need elevation too.
Whats your advice?!

Unless what Analoguesat suggests in his previous post is what you are trying to achieve, then I don't see any particular link between your location and a perceived need for elevation control - certainly not for reception of standard fixed Satellites.

If your system has another purpose, then it would help if you could provide further details.


Edit; I feel sure you understand that H-H motors and Actuator systems effectively account for elevation and skew as well as azimuth, for normal arc tracking?

Eh?

Any standard motor will track the arc correctly - east/west following the elevation changes (as long s its set up correctly in the first place).

You dont need additional up/down adjustment UNLESS you are after the inclined satellites.
 
I have seen the azimuth and elevation of sats that can be received in EG through prog finder
Elevation changes randomly 20 % of sats
i cant get them all through a regular motor setup...

Eh? Randomly? They are fixed on the arc formed by the Clarke Belt and so the elevation changes as you pan the arc are as consistent for you as they are at any other location.

Still not enough information - clearly we are missing something ......................

For the broadcast sats the elevation certainly does not change randomly. Its a smooth inverted arc with the apex at your local south.


If you have broadcast sats missing either you are outside the coverage area for the size of dish you are using, or your motor/dish isnt set up properly.

That's not "a problem" .... it's the variation to be expected.

Your local installers are clearly not up to the job - unless the issue is one of available footprint ???
 
so the positioner is to be programmed or what?!
 
As already stated, a correctly installed Actuator, signalled by a Positioner, automatically allows for the relative change in Elevation (and, indeed, LNB skew) as the dish pans across the arc.

This is achieved due to the mechanical design of the mount and the actuator (in the case of a 36v system) or by the locus of the motor stub (in the case of an H-H motor).
 
is there an actuator able to drive BUDs 4.8M Ku no mesh?
because GDsatcom guys sais that they have motorized mounts for BUDs

the strongest Actuator i have ever seen was 24' 36V 2.4-4M dish ,can it take 4.8M ?!

I concur with Tivu - your installers arent doing their job properly IF you are missing some channels you would expect to get in Egypt on a 2.4m dish.

Now what satellites are you trying to get? Even between 2E and 60E there going to be quite a few you wont be able to get, or maybe only get some of the beams without a silly sized dish.

about the silly sized dish,if i get it will be for ASTRA 2 Reception with full signals

Joining the discussion a bit late probably ..
But ..just because a specific satellite is technically visible ..ie direct line of sight ..doesn't automatically guarantee you will receive it ..
Imagine if you will a man stood on a hill a mile away from you with direct line of sight ...with binoculars you will see him on the mountain ...but supposing the guy has in his hand a torch ...(this is the same as the transponder carrying the signal )
If he points his torch in your direction ..you will indeed see the light beam ..but if he points it say 25 degrees east or west of your location ..you'll still see him but not the light...
And further ..if his batteries are low ..ie ..low signal strength ..then its going to be even harder to see the light ..unless its intended for you..ie pointed straight at you ..

To see anything of the light beam which is not pointed straight at you ...you now trade in your binoculars for an expensive telescope ...
ie ..trade up for a bigger dish ..
Then its just possible to make out the low intensity light by allowing more of the distant light to enter your eye ..
This is fringe reception..

the gbox manual says that max dish size is 3M should i ignore this and use with 4.8M ?!
