If you speak about German guy from Brazil, than probably his location was not too far inland (Brazil is big country). In your case, if you go for dish size up to 5 meters, than it could be possible to catch 19,2*E, at least some of the transponders. G-box can of course burn-up, but it also can work for dish sizes bigger than 3 meters it depends on how balanced will be your system.

i wonder how the german guy got 19E while its below horizon !

If he was watching it then then it wasnt below his horizon was it?

Presumably you are referring to the guy in Brazil.

Security fences and armed guards? :-boom

very funny
how can i prevent gbox from burning
i checked satbeams and the east of brasil is not below horizon which means some USA sats can be received west/north africa but not eg
is Ka band used for dvb ?!wheres the Ka lnb's ?

how to make the system safe

Your question makes no sense whatsoever - you havent said what you want to make safe and what you want to protect against.

Lightning strikes??

Folks hacking into the receiver??

The dish blowing away in a gale??

Ka is indeed used for DVB (As well as Broadband Internet) - there is a new system called SAORSAT which targets the Irish Republic and it uses Ka band and utilises very, very narrow spot beams.

The LNBs are currently hard to get on their own and are expensive.

You are asking far too many questions in one thread.

Please try to remember - one topic on one thread or it becomes hopelessly confusing for folks to follow.

If you want to ask questions wildly off topic from this one start a new thread.

The late - great - Klaus Schumacher ...was able to achieve this unprecedented feat because of his location ...ie proximity to the coast ....unobstructed ..and high altitude ..which made it possible to cheat the horizon ..and use the extra couple of degrees gained to skim the ocean surface ..and ignore ground/water effects due to the gigantic dish size he used ..
Doubtful if anything like that could _ever_ be achieved in this digital age ...but analogue was much more forgiving of errors..
Klaus was a man worthy of hero worship in the world of satellite dxing

Make your polar-mount system more stable or buy proper (more powerful pozitioner). To make already existing pozitioner more powerfull, changing of internal power transformer for one which can stand more amperage could also help.

And 81 other places :D

which positioners are more powerful?
which power transformer is suitable for GBOX?does this need bolting?

More powerful positioners those which can give more Output Current. Same rule applies for transformers. I do not understand what you mean by bolting? Bolting of what?
But anyway, main for polar-mounted system is how stable all the mechanics are designed. For example, I have seen 180cm antenna powered by simple Diseqc motor.

i mean that installing/replacing the transformer needs wiring only and no electronic soldering.

Most likely more powerful transformer will be bigger and heavier, so it even will not fit in original box. So, should be placed separately and connected to box via wires. Connections of wires of course better to use soldering. For example, on attached picture see original transformer and next to it new one. Both have 36V and 12V output, but can give different output current. Guess which one is more powerful?

after thinking the view isn't good for a living room.
aren't there positioners compatible with big dishes 3M and up

Why do not you use google? Key words "positioner 5m dish", that will leed you to lots of options, for example:
_http://www.ecplaza.net/trade-leads-seller/satellite-positioner-v-box-ii--4818135.html
_http://www.ecplaza.net/5m-satellite-dish--selling.html?id=nbnakin
_http://www.ecplaza.net/trade-leads-seller/satellite-positioner-3-in1-pakage--5121906.html

Another key words will give you even more information.

Edit: Nobody is saying you should keep all periphery stuff in the living room.

Are you on a wind up?
