Hi peep's
Great forum loads of advice here.

ok i have the following setup (in a shared house)

1x $ly Minidish with quad lnb
1x $ly digibox (out of my control)
1x $ly+ digibox (out of my control, but soon to be removed)
1x DM500s (mine)

what i would like to do is have this look at 2 sat's (28.2E & other close ones)
i currently have 1 feed from the dish but soon i will have access to a second feed, is it possible to connect both these feeds to a DiSEqC switch which will then feed my DM500S so i can access 2 sat's at once?

If the above is not possible could you describe some ch£ap examples of a set up that would give me what i need :)

I know this has probably been posted a multitude of times but the post's i have read are either in different countries or use different equipment & then flow into a pitfall of jargon (yea i need to learn the jargon too but i need to walk first b4 i can run!)

thnx in advance for any valid replies :)

To get a second satellite you require a second LNB, pointing at that satellite.
If all you have is a Sky mini dish, with 1 quad LNB, then all you will get are channels from Astra 2, and Eurobird 1, from all the feeds.
The only advantage of using a quad LNB is that you can feed 4 separate receivers, or a twin tuner for recording one channel while viewing another.
The best way to get into this hobby is to get a second dish and play around with it, moving it round to pick up various satellites, leaving the Sky dish pointing at Astra 2.

You can get Sky dishes far cheaper than that, they often turn up in skips these days so have a look in any you pass. Even a new zone 2 dish will only set you back 20 quid or so
