My Satellite Setup
Astra

Hello,
I live in Prague and want to watch UK channels. I bought a small portable SAT dish (which I now realise was a mistake) but can only seem to get astra 19e and 23e which are all german channels and i dont want these. I have checked my location and found out I should get astra 28.2e, I seemed to pick it up but itv and bbc were not displayed.

I noticed that the other satelite dishes are bigger than mine, so I have checked various sites and some say I need 65-70cm and others 95cm for astra 28e. Which size should I get?

Also can anyone advise me what type of reciever/dish to get ? do I need any particular type of reciever? I would like to if possible recieve the discovery channel and history channel but I am not sure if they are broadcasted by this sattelite or what i need to do.

I am coming to the uk next week and would prefer to buy a uk one (as all the instructions etc are in english)

Could someone advise me what I should do?
Thanks.

If you are looking to receive BBC and ITV channels which are transmitted from Astra 2D with a restricted footprint, you will probably need a 1.8m dish (the nearest successful reception reports I can find are for Berlin), channels like Discovery are encrypted and need a subscription.

A 90cm should be fine for much of the content from the satellite position.
